The utilization of electric power is important to the continued development of society. It is the most natural form of energy in the world, being derived from renewables such as solar, wind, water and geothermal resources. Fossil fuels are finite resources which are becoming more expensive to extract with time. Electric power also has a much lower carbon footprint than fossil fuels in generating electricity. This saves our atmosphere from global warming and climate change hazards by burning coal or gas for energy generation. Nuclear energy reduces carbon footprints by one-third when compared to coal or gas-fired thermal power plants but it does entail significant safety risks involved in its operation that have not been satisfactorily solved yet. The book has chapters on the following topics: Chapters are written by eminent scientists, engineers, technocrats and academicians in the field of electric power generation, transmission and distribution. The contents of each chapter includes its own unique conceptualization, theory and applications. The subject matter is highlighted with an exhaustive listing of references at the end of each chapter for readers to obtain further information on related academic works. The book has 65 tables (including one with equations), 4 figures (one with equations), 20 graphs (including 10 figures with equations), 4 tables (with equations) and 2 annexes.21. It is a theoretical and mathematical study of electric power utilization, which includes a preliminary computation to satisfy the need for global energy generation. The book also has chapters on the following topics: Chapters are written by eminent scientists, engineers, technocrats and academicians in the field of electricity generation.
